"Blue Reflections" is a series of works where the color blue becomes the common thread of a deep reflection on the perception of reality, between appearance and truth. In these canvases, blue is not just a chromatic choice but a symbol of introspection, immateriality, and the dualism between the visible and the invisible.
The paintings explore two main themes: on one hand, the ephemeral nature of social media, where lives are often portrayed through a filter of appearances, detached from true reality; on the other, the personal and subjective experience of each individual, with its truths, vulnerabilities, and unanswered questions.
The works are enriched with phrases and textual suggestions, guiding the viewer through an open-ended interpretative journey, influenced by their cultural and emotional background. Each observer becomes an active participant in the artwork, bringing their unique perspective and interpretation.
A distinctive element of the series is the use of metallic collage, a feature that runs through the works, creating a continuous thread and marking the evolution of Samuela Malizia’s artistic research. The reflective materiality of metal enhances the concept of a mirror between reality and illusion, evoking a dialogue between the tangible and the intangible.
"Blue Reflections" invites the viewer to pause, observe, and question what is authentic and what is constructed, using blue and metal as mirrors of an ever-changing reality, filled with contrasts, emotions, and timeless reflections.
